Next Steps After Getting Certified to Sell Individual / ACA Health Plans

Now that you are certified and ready to sell Individual Health and ACA plans, here are some best practices to ensure the selling process is as seamless as possible.

Selling On-Exchange Plans (Marketplace Plans)

If you are selling through the Marketplace, you will need to have your Marketplace Broker Accounts set up. This is where you will be quoting and submitting Marketplace applications as well as making policy changes.

Marketplace plans function differently than private plans. All changes must be made through the Marketplace, which will then send a report to the respective carriers in order for them to reflect the changes in their system.

Selling Off-Exchange Plans (Private Plans)

For off-exchange quoting and enrollments, as well as managing your specific carrier book of business, be sure to set up accounts with each carrier you plan to sell.
