On Monday, December 6, 2021, Mayor de Blasio of New York City (NYC) announced a vaccination mandate applicable to private businesses, regardless of the size of the business, with employees working in New York City. The mandate, which will take effect on December 27th, will apply to roughly 184,000 businesses.

Several questions remain regarding reasonable accommodation, implementation and enforcement.

New York City government is expected to issue guidance on December 15th, along with additional resources to support small businesses with implementation.
