CMS has announced new agent authorization requirements that will take effect for the 2027 Open Enrollment Period (OEP). These changes will impact how agents enroll and manage Marketplace clients moving forward.
For Plan Year 2027, CMS is transitioning agent-assisted Marketplace enrollment activity to approved Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) platforms that support the new agent authorization process. Brokers should evaluate and select an EDE platform that aligns with their business needs prior to OEP 2027

These enhancements are designed to provide greater visibility into your book of business while making it easier to manage client relationships throughout the year.
