Governor Murphy Announces Extension of Affordable Care Act Enrollment Period for Uninsured in New Jersey in Response to COVID-19 Pandemic

The State of New Jersey announced a new COVID-19 Special Enrollment Period (SEP). Beginning Monday, February 1, 2021, the new COVID-19 SEP will allow eligible individuals who are uninsured to enroll through Get Covered New Jersey, the State’s official health insurance marketplace (or directly through a carrier).

Additionally, the department will be providing an assister training on Special Enrollment Periods in the coming days. The SEP training will be uploaded in the LMS system and an additional notification will be provided once available.

Please be on the lookout for state-level news as to how, if at all, states address a special open enrollment period as being allowed on the federal level.
