Peter L. Gualtieri attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, where he graduated with both a B.B.A. and M.B.A. in Marketing and Management. Prior to this achievement, he received his Bachelor of Arts while attending Central High School. Central remains the only preparatory magnet school in the United States with the authority to confer academic degrees to select graduates. Peter has developed an extensive career building businesses in healthcare and hospitality industries for over twenty-five years. In 2001, Peter was retained as a consultant for the mid-Atlantic commercial health insurance carrier, Fidelity Insurance Group, where he restructured work flow systems, managed sales and account management staff, and initiated training programs during a rapid growth period. In 2004, Peter directed a successful post-acquisition integration of Fidelity with a national Fortune 20 company, UnitedHealthcare. As Vice President of Sales and Account Management of UnitedHealthcare, Peter led the geographic expansion into Pennsylvania for the largest health and well-being company in the country. His initial focus was growing the small group market (under 100 employees), as he led efforts in adding over 1,800 new groups sold through 800 brokers over a three year period. Peter’s last three years with UnitedHealthcare focused on retention and service of both small group and large group employers (100-5,000 employees). Most recently, in 2010, Peter was appointed by Savoy Associates as Director, Business Development, Pennsylvania. He is specifically entrusted with executing our business initiatives as well as overseeing the growth and development of Savoy Associates’ office staff for their newly opened branch office located at 150 N Radnor Chester Road, Sute F200, Radnor, PA 19087. Peter remains an active board member of the Greater Philadelphia Health Underwriters Association. He currently serves as an educator in the health insurance and related fields, and teaches Continuing Education classes regularly. In the past, he has been a member of the Main Line, Delaware County and Chester County Chambers of Commerce. He has volunteered his time with charitable organizations, such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the American Lung Association, as well as serving as a mentor online for Micro Mentor, where he provides entrepreneurs with opportunities to grow their businesses. In addition, Peter continues to assist his family in growing and expanding a small chain of family-owned restaurants, Barrels Italian Foods, originally in Philadelphia since 1959 and in South Jersey since 1993. Peter Gualtieri is a devoted husband to his wife, Roseann, and a proud father to his two sons, Peter and Michael. |
