Aetna will require 60 percent
participation for Small Group business
We want to remind you that our new guideline
requiring 60
percent participation for new and existing Small Group
medical business (2-50 lives) in New York is effective May 1, 2012.
You can review the original alert announcing the
guideline, which included sample underwriting examples, here. Please note, we will no longer
accept a waiver for a 2-person group – both group members will now need
to enroll with Aetna.
Letters for your clients
Here are letters we will be sending to your
clients who no longer meet the participation requirements:
One
eligible employee, one enrolled employee
Two-plus eligible employees, one enrolled employee
