URGENT! Savoy Guide: Individual Health Coverage – Open Enrollment for Plan Year 2018

The 2018 Plan Year Individual Health Open Enrollment Period is from November 1, 2017 through December 15, 2017. During this period, individuals are able to enroll in an Individual Health Plan for the first time or make any changes to existing Individual Health Coverage (IHC).

CASE SUBMISSIONS AND APPROVAL
Due to the high volume anticipated during Open Enrollment, please allow two to three weeks for case approval when submitting any enrollments to Savoy. Additionally, please be sure to advise your clients of the case submission process and anticipated turnaround time.

FEDERALLY-FACILITATED MARKETPLACE (FFM) REGISTRATION AND TRAINING
Plan year 2018 Marketplace registration and training must be completed in order to assist clients in securing an On-Exchange Individual Health Plans. Brokers who are new to the Marketplace this year are required to take the full Individual Marketplace training for plan year 2018. Returning brokers are eligible to take a streamlined Refresher Training for plan year 2018.

To become FFM Certified for 2018, you must complete the registration and training via CMS or a CMS-approved vendor:

2018 CARRIER REGISTRATION – SELECT SAVOY AS YOUR GENERAL AGENCY

Horizon BCBSNJ
Brokers must register through the 2018 Sentinel Elite and identify Savoy as their General Agency for all Horizon BCBSNJ 2018 On-Exchange and Off-Exchange Individual business. Brokers will need to complete registration by using the unique PIN code provided below.

Oscar

AmeriHealth NJ and Independence Blue Cross
For AmeriHealth and Independence registration, email the following information to individualenroll@savoyassociates.com.
  1. Email address
  2. Full name
  3. NPN
  4. State license number (NJ or PA)
  5. License expiration date
One this information is received and processed, you will receive an email with a link for registration.  

SUBMITTING IHC PAPER APPLICATIONS FOR PROCESSING
When completing paper applications, the selling agent must sign the enrollment form as the signature of preparer and indicate their National Producer Number (NPN) so commissions can be assigned accordingly. All applications should be sent to individualenroll@savoyassociates.com for processing. 

BROKER OF RECORD
It is important to include your NPN on all applications in order to be recognized as the broker of record. If you do not already know this number, you can search for it via the NPN Search.

PREMIUM TAX CREDIT SUBSIDY
If you feel your client may qualify for a Premium Tax Credit (PTC) subsidy, please visit kff.org/interactive/subsidy-calculator and use the calculator to see if they qualify and to obtain an estimate of the PTC subsidy. If your client qualifies, visit healthcare.gov and be sure to enter the FFM certified agent's name and NPN to be recognized as the broker of record.
