Savoy Associates is pleased to introduce Joan Fusco, our widely recognized Director of Research & Education, and our resident Information Specialist.

Joan Fusco joined Savoy Associates in April 2003, at the beginning of our South Jersey expansion, and was instrumental in the early development of the new Hamilton branch office. With 28 years of insurance industry experience, and her incredible breadth of knowledge, Joan proved to be very capable of multitasking and ‘wearing many hats’ in order to provide brokers with outstanding service from the moment the office opened for business. After additional staffing of the new office was well under way, and new initiatives had been identified for 2005, Joan was recruited to serve in a specialized new role as our first Manager of Research and Broker Support. In this new role, Joan’s broad scope of experience allows her to provide exceptional guidance regarding compliance with federal and state insurance laws. She is responsible for training and assisting Savoy Associates personnel, as well as our broker partners, with regulatory, legislative, compliance and dynamic benefit issues with a specific focus on complex and/or unusual situations.

Joan oversees the Savoy Associates School of Insurance, the instructors, the courses and the continuing education (CE) credit filings. Largely due to her influence, Savoy Associates now holds bi-weekly CE courses at both office locations, and courses are meticulously authored with an emphasis on pertinent, timely information as well as health/life licensing requirements.

In addition to these responsibilities, Joan frequently attends and gathers information at appropriate legislative and regulatory meetings around New Jersey. After reviewing any implications that new laws or regulations may have on our business, she provides written summaries and advises staff members on points of interest or concern for our organization and/or for producers and their clients. This allows our Account Executives and other members of Savoy Associates to always have access to the latest NJ-SEH information, in addition to Joan’s professional commentary and insight, in order to properly address and advise broker/client concerns on a daily basis.

Many brokers have already experienced the impact of Joan’s influence at Savoy Associates through her work on the Savoy Associates Reference Guides. She researches, develops and publishes the most sought-after information by carrier, by line of business, and by market region, and is continually updating and reviewing it for accuracy. This prodigious tool was designed to assist brokers of all levels with their ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ with regard to writing health insurance on a day-to-day basis with our many insurance carriers.

In addition to the Reference Guides, Joan also updates, maintains and coordinates both our internal and web-based Forms & Information Libraries, and is a valued member of the Website Development Committee at Savoy Associates. The new www.savoyassociates.com, what it is today and what it is yet to become, bears the mark of Joan’s vast array of experience and knowledge, hard work, and insightful direction, and we whole-heartedly thank her for her contributions.
