Dental Coverage

Pediatric Dental is a mandatory Essential Health Benefit under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and must be included unless you can attest that you receive ACA compliant Pediatric Dental coverage elsewhere. Benefits are provided to any covered person under the age of 19 and will require an additional cost beyond your health plan coverage premium. You also have the option of purchasing a Pediatric Dental with Adult Preventative plan for an additional charge which provides coverage for individuals under the age of 19 plus dental coverage for persons over the age of 19 instead of the Pediatric Dental plan. Payment for the first month's premium

AmeriHealth requires  the Electronic Funds Transfer form completed and submitted with a copy of a voided check.

AmeriHealth grants the 1st & 15th of the month effective dates. Paperwork must be received no later than the 3 days prior to the effective date.
ID cards are sent to new members approximately 2 weeks after an application has been received. In the event that a member requires medical attention prior to receiving an ID card, a copy of the Individual Application may be used as proof of insurance. Members can verify coverage by calling the AmeriHealth Individual Department at 800-893-7827.

Upgrading and Downgrading Coverage

In order to change your health coverage, your application must be submitted during Open Enrollment which is November 1st  through December 15th.
Please note, any enrollment application submitted outside of open enrollment must be accompanied by proof of loss of coverage or of any triggering event that qualifies you for coverage. For a list of those qualifying events, please click here
